Cyber Bullying and how it effects Identity.

When it comes to Identity in cyber bullying it can mean a few things. Both Cole and I use our social media platforms to project our identities and college students and our everyday experiences. Victims of cyber bullying this is not always the case. They see their identity as a target. They feel that they are less than others and aren’t as good. This is a common trend amongst a lot of the community who have suffered from cyber bullying. These kids have taken to the cyber world to help get away from the bullies they face in their everyday life, yet they still face the same issues in regards to harassing text and other forms of online bullying. Just last week the company Snap Chat decided to join in and help the fight against cyber bullying. What they did was made a filter that said “stop cyber bullying” that you could put on your snapchats. This Idea took off and we saw a massive amount of support! Both kids who have felt with cyber bullying as well as people who just wanted to help the cause took to snap chat and used that filter to help these kids change their own Identities. What this filter did was allow all these victims see how much support they have around the world and that their identity dozent have to be defined by the things these bullies say about them. This gave these kids the opportunity to remake themselves and create their own identity, one that they can shape through technologies. hqdefault
