When it came to chooseing a topic or culture to observe and interact with we only had one thought. How can we really study and understand a different culture if we do not first understand our own. Thats is why we decided to choose the demographic we are apart of; the 16-25 year old population. We have had a special experience growing up because we have been right in the thick of this internet and social media outbreak.
With being able to experience social media and the technological revolution since its beginning I believe it give us the best chance of truly understanding its impact on our society. The things we really found interesting about our topic is how today the people in our demographic are so controlled by the media world, considering it has only been big for less than half our lives. We are also curious to answer the question of why has the media movement (specifically social media) made such an impact on our lives, and what would we be with out it?
A few predictions we have is that the reason we are so influenced by the media world is that we feel its a necessity to keep up with the ever evolving world. Also, will there ever be a point in our lives that we will see society (especially our demographic) fade away from the media world? Our opinion is no, reason being is its become such a staple in our lives that there is no possible way we be without it.
